Founded in 1991 as a stand-alone, multidisciplinary program inside the English Department, the Composition & Rhetoric Program is committed to providing outstanding undergraduate and graduate education focused on significant issues in rhetoric, language, literacy, and learning in contemporary society. We are home to a highly-ranked doctoral program in Composition & Rhetoric, where a nationally renowned group of faculty and staff work closely with a diverse group of graduate students on developing excellence in scholarship, teaching, and professional activism. Additionally, we offer attentive, student-centered undergraduate writing courses through the English 100 and English 201 programs and advanced courses that focus on advanced composition and writing-in-workplaces with an internship component. We also offer a range of undergraduate courses that focus on rhetoric, writing, and literacy.
