Bio:

Pinar Tasdemir is a Ph.D. Candidate in the English Department at UW-Madison. She received her BA and MA in English Literature at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey, where she also obtained a certificate in Film Studies. Her dissertation examines American true crime narratives and political economy’s impact on the genre’s structures with a focus on mass culture, ideology, and Marxist literary theory.
