Public Humanities Workshop with Aaron Fai

October 31, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Imagining Your Publicly Engaged Humanities Project: A Workshop

This small group workshop invites you to imagine a public humanities project from the ground up. Facilitator Aaron Fai (Center for the Humanities) and other attendees will help you think through potential ideas, partners, next steps, and obstacles for your imagined project. No previous experience or skills in publicly engaged projects required! For examples of past projects, visit the Center for the Humanities’ Humanities Exchange and also the National Humanities Alliance’s excellent Humanities For All.

This workshop is by registration only and will be capped at twelve. To register, please submit one paragraph (300-words maximum) describing your current interest in starting a publicly engaged project to Aaron Fai (fai@wisc.edu). In writing this paragraph, please consider the project’s potential collaborators and audiences; the connection with your own work; and what professional skills this would develop in yourself. Based on this text, you will be matched with other like-minded students to develop your projects together during the workshop.

Location of workshop TBA.
