Welcome to the homepage of the UW-Madison English Department’s Graduate Student Association (GSA). Each spring we host the Madison Graduate Conference in Language and Literature (MadLit). From February 28 through March 2, 2013, we will celebrate the 9th annual meeting of MadLit, which will engage this year with the theme “Between Surface and Depth.” The conference will feature a keynote address by Dr. Mary Poovey, Samuel Rudin University Professor of the Humanities and Professor of English at New York University, and a plenary address by Ph.D. candidate Eric Vivier. On this site, you will find a schedule of events as well as information on key conference locations,  travel to and from Madison, nearby accommodations, and local dining. You can also see programs from MadLits past and the CFP for next year’s conference! Please contact us with any questions or for further information.
